Tuam professor behind new tool to reduce fatal clots

A TUAM pharmacist is leading the way in raising safety standards for pregnant women with the invention of an app to track the risk of fatal blood clots following the birth of a child.
Professor Brian Cleary from Fairgreen Heights is chief pharmacist at the Rotunda Hospital in Dublin where he has led a multi-disciplinary team that has developed Thrombocalc, a risk assessment app.
The 36-year-old is the youngest son of Jimmy and the late Josephine and lives in Marino with his wife and three young children.
