Shane's hopes for treatment to bring him closer to home

TUAM’s Shane Grogan is hoping to be accepted on to a national pilot treatment programme for people with severe acquired brain injuries, with a decision on funding due to be announced shortly.
The three-year programme is being run by An Saol, a Dublin based charity that aims to give those who have suffered severe head injuries the chance to regain as much independence and self-determination as possible through adequate therapies.
Shane, who turned 27 on Monday, sustained a serious brain injury in an assault in the town four years ago.
