How can Ireland's Ancient East stretch to Claregalway?

IRELAND’S Ancient East, it appears, now stretches as far as Claregalway — and the ancient city of Tuam doesn’t even feature on a map produced by Galway Co Council listing events around the county for 2016.
These were two of the more glaring anomalies which annoyed members of the authority when they were presented with an outline of the county’s tourism strategy for the coming years at County Hall this week.
Members accused Failte Ireland of abandoning the North, East and even large sections of Connemara in the West to focus exclusively on Galway city and the Wild Atlantic Way.
