Former home residents should make contact with inquiry team

FORMER residents of the Tuam Home are being asked to make contact with the Commission of Investigation into Mother and Baby homes, following a visit by the commission members to Tuam earlier this month.
Judge Yvonne Murphy, Dr William Duncan and Ita Mangan travelled to Tuam two weeks ago to meet with Catherine Corless, whose research led to the establishment of a nationwide inquiry by the government.
The group visited the site of the former home where the remains of up to 800 infants are believed to be buried.
Catherine said she had made copies of all the documentation and maps she has accrued over recent years relating to the home and passed this on to the commission team.
