Lobbying must start to secure 20 million for tuam ring road

EFFORTS have to be made immediately to begin lobbying for the millions needed for Tuam’s long-planned ring road.
A route for the major project, which will skim around the town on the Dublin Road side, has been set down and agreed for a number of years but there is no timescale in place.
Independent Cllr Sean Canney is concerned that it has been forgotten about and says it’s imperative that the Council doesn’t put its future on the long finger.
Cllr Canney believes that with the construction of the Tuam to Gort motorway and Tuam by-pass finally underway, now is the ideal time for Galway County Council to make an application regarding what was originaly known as the inner-relief road.
