From 12000 to 120 money trail didnt always find votes

A TUAM county councillor was second from the top when it came to the amount spent by the 74 candidates during their local election campaigns in the county earlier this year.
The amounts spent by those who were eager to take one of the 39 seats in County Hall vary from €12,672 to €120, with expenses listed ranging from media advertising to feeding those who knocked on the doors on their behalf.
Fianna Fáil’s Donagh Killilea on €11,060 was the biggest spender in the Tuam Municipal District and the second highest spender of all the candidates. An independent candidate in the Connemara district, Ronan Garvey, spent the most overall — €12,672.
The candidate who spent the least was Independent candidate Suzanne O’Keefe who contested in the Athenry-Oranmore district and paid out €120.
