Tuams sugarbeat festival is a sweet success

TUAM’S inaugural one-day music festival has been hailed an overwhelming success, with huge crowds not only attending SugarBeat in Tuam Stadium but hundreds also flocked to the town just to soak up the festive atmosphere.
Local pubs and cafés reported a major boost in trade throughout Saturday and there was the rare sight of people queuing to get into a pub, with one barman saying they’d had their best day in years.
The two-stage concert has taken just over a year’s work of planning by local publican Rossi Sheridan and DJ Shane Donnellan who are thrilled with the reaction to the festival.
Tuam Chamber of Commerce rallied behind the event and organised add-on events to ensure the entire town benefited from the extravaganza.
Shane Donnellan says everything came together and the sunshine topped it off.
