Dunmore opens the doors to its new community pantry

DUNMORE now has a well-stocked pantry that’s fit to feed the entire community.
The country-themed kitchen and dining area is the latest initiative to open at the town’s Enterprise and Resource Centre.
An Pantrach (The Pantry) will not only provide freshly cooked lunches three days a week but its modern kitchen is set to be used as part of basic cookery courses in the autumn.
Funding for the resource was secured through the St Vincent de Paul’s Maureen O’Connell Fund in Galway and the dining facility will be staffed by a core group of volunteers and participants in Tús.
Co-ordinator of the new facility Mary Jessop says there is great excitement in the lead up to An Pantrach’s official launch next Wednesday (August 6).
