They squelched in style at Ballybrit

IT was a tale of two race meets – there were ladies professionally walking in their pricey Jimmy Choo et al shoes while others exited the course through puddles in their bare feet.

I doubt the expensive designer courts were any less painful than the skyscraper heels held by those whose toes squelched on the wet and muddy grass. Perhaps both style sets should have stopped off at the pop-up flipflop stall that had sprung up outside the turnstiles.
The Galway Races always attract the spectators and the spectacle and over the seven days there was plenty of both.
