Mountbellew musician seeks votes for major US award

A MOUNTBELLEW musician has been nominated for a prestigious award in the US, where he and his band Brogue Wave have been shortlisted for the Best World Music accolade.
David Lally, 44, from Belderney has been based in San Diego, California for the past 23 years where he has clocked up over 3,000 gigs playing in various bands throughout the State.
He and his four bandmates in Brogue Wave play a mixture of Celtic folk and traditional Irish tunes with a few old time tunes thrown in for good measure.
The San Diego Music Awards have featured several big name stars over the years including Jason Mraz, Jewel and POD. Now in its 26th year, the awards are determined by public vote and David is hopeful Brogue Wave can win in their category.
