Meals on Wheels is a service for more than just the elderly

PEOPLE often think of Meals on Wheels as being only for the aged, the invalided or the housebound. But the North Galway Community Services, launched a year ago, are changing that trend by delivering hot meals to anyone, irrespective of age or health issues, as well as to business people and busy farmers who don’t have time to cook a dinner.
The service covers a wide area from Milltown to Caherlistrane and from Kilbannon through Kilconly to the borders of Kilmaine. One of the organising committee, Matilda Daly, says they want to emphasise that the service, co-ordinated from Kilconly Community Centre, is available to all age groups.
