Winnie launched third book on caherlistrane

MANY parishes have had a book written about them, but very few have had three.
Caherlistrane joined that elite number when the third book in Mary J Murphy’s trilogy was launched on Saturday night.
Simply titled “Caherlistrane”, the book follows Viking Summer, about the filming of Alfred the Great on the slopes of Knockma (and other locations) and Achill’s Eva O’Flaherty, who grew up in the parish.
Local people and special guests gathered in the Community Centre after Mass to join in the celebration and meet a renowned granddaughter of the parish, Eilish O’Carroll, known to millions as Winnie in Mrs Brown’s Boys.
