Belclare man is new Super in Tuam
By TOM GILMORE BELCLARE man Supt Pat McHugh is the new Garda Superintendent in Tuam where he will take up duty on Thursday week Pat (50) who is a native of Ballaghbawn, moves to Tuam from Ballina where he was superintendent for over two years. He started out in the force in Irishtown Garda Station, Dublin and moved from there to Ballyshannon when he became a sergeant. [private] He also served as a sergeant in Mountbellew and Ballinasloe and as Inspector in Galway City before his promotion to Ballina as Superintendent. A past pupil of Belclare NS and Tuam CBS, he is married to Ursula who is from Kiltrogue, Claregalway and they have four children. Meanwhile Chief Supt Tom Curley who was stationed in Castlebar and who was previously superintendent in Galway moves back to the City as Chief Supt. [/private]
