THERE’S no place like home for Tuam Youth Theatre who will bring the Frank Baum classic, The Wizard of Oz to the stage next week.
A cast of 55 young people have been rehearsing three nights a week since June for the production that sees the talents of Tuam, Kilconly, Milltown, Glenamaddy, Mountbellew and Headford assemble for this heart-warming family musical.
Tuam teenager Jordan McPhillips assumes the role of Dorothy, whose adventures along the Yellow Brick Road are a firm favourite with generations of children.
Joined by Damien Comer from Annaghdown (Scarecrow), Kilconly’s Paul Marsden (Tin Man) and Brad Anderson from Milltown (Lion), the main cast also features a real dog in the role of Toto, with Holly treading the boards over the three nights and one matinee performance.
