Tuam Youth Theatre takes to the yellow brick road in The Wizard of Oz

By JACQUELINE HOGGE 'We've put a lot of work in over the past few months with three rehearsals a week in the Scout Hall here in Tuam so everyone involved is very excited and looking forward to performing for local audiences.' The Wizard of Oz opens at Scoil Bhríde Convent of Mercy Hall on Thursday, August 23 at 8 pm, with nightly performances on Friday and Saturday, and a matinee show at 3 pm on Sunday, August 26. Tickets are available from Quinn's on Bishop Street, and Geraghty's Petrol Station, Church View; priced €15 adult, €12 student and €10 primary school pupils. 'We are a not-for-profit organisation and the cost of this year's show is likely to reach €20,000 so we need to sell as many tickets as possible and we hope that the local community will support us as well as they have done in previous years,' added Gillian.[/private]
