Editorial – Arts survive in hard times

FOR FOUR DAYS this weekend the town of Tuam pays its annual homage to the arts. The reason the Tuam Arts Festival is a long weekend rather than a week is simple — lack of money.
Due to a reported administrative foul-up at County Council level, the group which organises the festival, Earwig!, did not get any local authority grant this year.
