Low cost training for local businesses

A RANGE of training courses aimed at small-to medium-sized businesses in Galway city and county will provide a cost-effective way of improving skills within the sector locally. The courses are being rolled out by the Galway County and City Enterprise Board and are not just for existing businesses but will also be relevant for someone interested in starting a business or the self-employed. CEO of the enterprise board, Breda Fox, says training is a key support for all business no matter what stage they are at. Some of the course topics cover developing a website, using social media for business, taxation and cash flow, generating ideas and costing and pricing. Breda Fox says the enterprise board should be the first port of call for anyone wishing to start or expand a business in Galway. 'We work closely with the individual and businesses at every stage of development, from the initial idea stage right through to growth and expansion. Training is a key support for all business, at every stage in their life cycle,' she explained. The board provides a range of business support packages including business information and advice, mentoring, training, networking and promotional opportunities as part of its one-stop-shop services for clients.All training courses will be held at the board's training rooms in Woodquay, Galway.
